Welcome to Baku International School (BIS), where learning is an adventure! At BIS we provide all the opportunities necessary for students to learn, grow and thrive in ways that spark creativity and ignite passions.

BIS is accredited through the Middle States Association (MSA) and is part of the QSI family of 35 schools located around the world. We offer a comprehensive American Education with all instruction in English. We utilize a curriculum built on Mastery Learning starting from 2 years-old all the way through to high school graduation. From early ages, students are given the support and time needed to be successful. With engaging classes and enthusiastic teachers, they can be challenged, encouraged, and invited to explore the world around them. This includes the opportunity to participate in drama, music, art, technology, sports and a rigorous academic program that offers a well-rounded choice of courses for each age up to College Board Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

Our campus boasts a beautiful auditorium and theatre that seats 500. We have a fully stocked art room, a fabulous music room, 3 high tech-computer labs, 2 levels to our amazing library, inquiry science labs, a dedicated maker space workshop and inviting classrooms where students have room to grow and succeed.  We also have sports and recreation areas with facilities and equipment for soccer, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, pickle ball, badminton, and other activities.

The key to our success is a dedicated, enthusiastic staff. They are qualified local and international teachers who focus on every student’s growth, learning and social development. This is enhanced by our Success Orientations and Empower Program which teaches students the life skills, growth mindset and social skills to meet the challenges of today’s world.
