Online application forms must be completed and submitted in full in order for a file to be considered and/or processed. Applicants seeking admission to BIS are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible to guarantee a seat in our school.

The following documents will need to be uploaded:

·        Passport. Copy of student and parents passport and/or birth certificate

·        School Records. Copy of previous school records and transcripts

·        Copy of immunization records

·        Passport Size Photo of Students

·        Pay the one-time non-refundable $300 application processing and testing fee

Note: The Baku International School ask your permission to contact schools previously attended in order to validate the records provided and/or inquire about the student(s) in question in the electronic application process.

Admission Evaluation and Assessment (Placement Test and Interview)

Candidates apply to BIS from many different countries with a wide range of educational systems and curriculums. The candidate’s age, previous academic report cards, admissions assessment, and a review of all related educational documentation are used to ensure that the candidate is a match for our school, as well as placed in the appropriate grade level.

Upon receiving your complete application, our Admissions Team, including the Admissions Officer, Director of Instruction, School Director, and other relevant staff members, will review it.

Once the initial review is complete, we will contact you to arrange a placement test and interview for your child. The test will cover reading, language, and mathematics for students aged 7 and above, and the interview will be conducted by the Director of Instruction for the appropriate age group.

The initial assessment does not guarantee a place at the school nor that a seat will be held for any student.

Once we have decided about your application, we will send you a notification email.

There are three main outcomes:

Offer of Placement

You receive an acceptance email if your application meets all admission criteria, and we have an available spot. We will offer you a place at our school.

Your child is placed on the waiting list if we accept an applicant but no spots are available in the appropriate class. As soon as a spot becomes available, it will be offered to a suitable student on the waiting list.

The candidate is not accepted if the Admissions Team determines that our school may not be the best fit for the student.
